Sunday Winter Walk

Here are some pictures of a very wintery 2.5 hour long walk through the countryside last Sunday. Even the tiniest little bit of snow makes the world look so much better.

♥ Elizabeth Arden Radiance Boosting Moisture Cream SPF 15, €9,99
♥ Nivea Pure&Natural Moisturising Day Cream: Normal/Combination, €9,15
♥ Nivea Pure&Natural Moisturising Night Cream: Normal/Combination, €9,15

Hi everyone,

I hope you've all had a great Christmas. Mine was amazing, I'm so sad it's over now! But weirdly enough I suddenly am in some kind of summer mood (and I'm such a winter person). I want to buy cute floral tops and pastel nail polishes while there's still snow outside. What a weirdo I am...

Today I want to show you my skincare routine. I don't use anything really special or expensive, but these products work great for me. Everything costs under €10 so it's all really affordable. I even got most of it with 1+1 promos.

Morning
In the morning I always wash my face with cold water first. Then I use the Biodermal Face Wash to make sure my face is completely dirt-free. When I'm feeling like it I also use the Garnier Micellair Cleansing Water, because it makes the skin feel so fresh. After that I use my Olaz Essentials Beauty Fluid. This is a great moisturiser and makeup base in one. Applying your makeup is so much easier when you've applied this before!
On days when I'm not wearing make-up I'll use my Nivea Pure&Natural Day Cream instead of the Olaz one, which I've been loving for months now.

Evening
Before I take a shower I make sure almost all of my makeup is gone by taking my Garnier Micellair Cleansing Water. I absolutely love this stuff. It takes off your makeup so easily without leaving any redness or stingy eyes. After my shower I use the Biodermal Face Wash again. Then I use either the Nivea Pure&Natural Night Cream when my face doens't look too dry or the Elizabeth Arden Intervene Moisturising Cream when my face is really dry. This cream works great when your skin is extremely dry. Otherwise I find it a bit too shiny.

Because I have quite obvious nose pores and absolutely hate them, I use the Formula 10.0.6 Down to the Pore strips once a week. I've bought these quite recently and I already notice a really big difference. There are six strips in a box and you really only need to use them once a week. If you've got the same problem as I do, I'd definetely recommend them! And if you've got any tips to make them dissapear, please let me know!

Would you like to try any of these products? And what are your skincare favourites?

Honey I Washed The Kids

Thursday, 4 December 2014

Left: Soft Coeur Massage bar | Right: Honey I Washed The Kids Soap

I'm starting to understand the whole Lush-hype thing that seems to be
going on on the internet. I have tried about 8 of their products and I'm sold. It does wonders to my skin, everything smells amazing and they try to make their products as natural as possible.

A few days ago, when I was supposed to be buying presents for others, I walked into Lush and treated myself with a gift card I got for my 18th birthday. Lesson one: never go into Lush with a headache and without an idea of what you're going to purchase. The smell in Lush is amazing, but when you're not feeling very well it's not a good idea to go inside and walk around like a crazy person searching for something you might like. In this condition, you are very likely drop a beautiful bath bomb on the floor...

After this not-so-great experience I left the store with two products: the soap Honey I Washed The Kids, Lush's worldwide best selling soap, and a heart-shaped massage bar called Soft Coeur. The names make my love the products even more!

The soap smells like sweet toffy and it makes your skin feel so soft! Now I've been using solid soaps for quite a while, I really prefer this to liquid shower gels. The massage bar, made with honey and cocoa was quite new territory for me. I've tried it out and again: amazing. You have to make it warm with your hands and you can 'massage' your body with it. The butters in it moisturise your skin and make it feel really soft. Love it! Can't wait to go back to Lush and try out some more of their stuff!

What are your Lush favourites?

Festive Bedroom

Wednesday, 3 December 2014

When Christmas is coming around the corner I love to make my room feel a little bit more festive. I have fairy lights in my room almost all year around, but this time of the year I go fairy light crazy! I hope you like the pictures and maybe get some inspiration from them!

November Favourites

November was over before I had even noticed it had begun. But a lot of good things have happened this month. I turned 18, I passed my first 3 exams and I had my first driving lesson!
I've also been using a lot of new beauty products this month. Here are my favourites!

Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in Starlet, 530
A beautiful light pink lipgloss with a lot of shimmer in it. I think this looks nice both at daytime and at night when you're having a party or something.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh
I got this perfume from my parents for my birhday and I absolutely love it. I know it's not a typical winter scent, but I feel like it really suits me so then I think it's okay to wear it all year around (right?).

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Cutting Edge, 120
This beautiful purple matt shade is perfect for the cold winter days. It's a bit dark but I feel like I can get away with it. I've been wearing this a lot this month and I will continue wearing it in December!

Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace, 367
This is my first ever Sleek product, because they were not selling it in the Netherlands until a few months ago. I really like the intensity of the colours. You only need to apply the tiniest little bit on your cheeks to get an amazing effect. I'm also a big fan of the huge mirror inside.

HEMA Spicy, Bright and Delightful bodylotion
A super moisturising body lotion that just smells like Christmas to me.

Maybelline Color show in Downtown Red, 352
I think I got this nailpolish as a present for my birthday one year ago, but I just never used it. This month I was feeling very festive already so I've only been wearing this nailpolish and the purple one next to it. It doesn't chip for about 4 days, so the quality is really good.

HEMA Long Lasting Nailpolish Matt in 824
I've been wearing this gorgeous purple colour non stop for the first two weeks of November. It's matt the first two days and then it gets kind of shiny but still beautiful.

Elizabeth Arden Radience Boosing Moisture Cream SPF 15
When I bought this cream in summer it totally didn´t work for my skin. It made my skin extremely shiny and it seemed like it didn't want to sink into my skin. Now my skin is a lot more dry and this really helps to moisturise it. I apply it before I go to bed and when I wake up my skin feels not dry at all.

Have you tried any of the products? Let me know!

My Favourite Films to Watch in December

Monday, 1 December 2014

One of the things I love to do in winter, and especially around Christmas time, is to cuddle up under a blanket on the couch or in bed and watch films. Especially all the films with Hugh Grant (when he was a little bit younger) make me very happy. On Christmas day itself we have a Home Alone marathon with the family. Some films just never get boring :). Here's a list with some Christmas films that in my opinion you must have seen before the end of the month (even though you've probably seen them a 1000 times)!

1. Love Actually (2003)

"Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England."

This is the perfect Christmas film. I've seen this film many many many times, but it's great every single time. It's predictable, but in a good way. What I love so much about this film is that all the different story lines come together in the end (and of course I love the happy ending). I can't imagine there will be anyone reading this who has never seen this film, but if there is: go watch it now!!

2. The Holiday (2006)

"Two women troubled with guy-problems swap homes in each other's countries, where they each meet a local guy and fall in love."

This film also is one of my favourites. The first time I've seen it was years ago in high school, just before the summer holidays (when it was terribly hot outside). Maybe that's the reason I always watch this film around that time of the year. I especially love the part that takes place in England. I'm definetely going to see this film again this month!

3. Home Alone 1 (1990) & 2 (1992)

Home Alone: "An 8-year-old boy who is accidentally left behind while his family flies to France for Christmas must defend his home against idiotic burglars."

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York: "One year after Kevin was left home alone and had to defeat a pair of bumbling burglars, he accidentally finds himself in New York City, and the same criminals are not far behind."

This films just never get old. I particularly like the first two films (Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York), in which Macaulay Culkin plays Kevin. I've seen the other two films as well, but I definetely don't like them as much as the first two.
Edit: apparently there's also a 5th film. I've never seen this one before, has any of you?

4. Elf (2003)

"After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity."

I've seen this film for the first time last year in December. I thought it was hilarious and a little bit embarassing at the same time. The main character behaves so weirdly around normal people that I feel some kind of vicarious shame when I watch it (I get way too much in to it, clearly). A very very funny film, I would definitely recommend this!

5. Alles is Liefde

If you're not from the Netherlands or Belgium, it's very likely that you've never heard of this film (and that you probably won't be interested in watching it). I think you can say it's the Dutch version of Love Actually. A big difference is that the upcoming holiday is Sinterklaas instead of Christmas. Sinterklaas is a very popular holiday on December 5th in the Nederlands and Belgium.

Do you have any recommendations? I LOVE Christmas films and I really want to discover some more amazing films.
